The ideal candidate has been working for several years with multidisciplinary teams to concept new experiences, architect UI models, generate prototypes and deliver detailed designs. Most importantly you should be comfortable designing across physical and digital interfaces for a variety of device types - from the computer monitor on your desk, to the mobile device in your pocket, to the touch screen at the airport, to the dashboard in a car, etc.
Senior designers at Smart are very senior. You will be expected to lead multi-disciplinary design teams through client engagements, delivering the highest quality design solutions while respecting a project budget and achieving the overall client goals. In addition, a Senior Interaction Designer works with the Interaction Design Director to help guide and grow the practice and studio culture.
Smart is a multi-disciplinary design studio. Our teams include design researchers, industrial designers, graphic designers, interaction designers and engineers working together to produce the best possible experiences. Interaction Designers at Smart work on a variety of projects and design tasks, including physical interaction models and interface technologies, screen-based user interfaces, hardware/software integration, entire service flows, and complex processes definition.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years experience designing for different device types: TV, PC, Kiosk, Smart phone, Embedded, etc
• Proven skills designing emotive experiences that meet key requirements (user goals, design vision, technology and business requirements, etc)
• Strong experience in concepting UI models, generating detailed wire frames, developing prototypes and delivering comprehensive specifications.
• Visual design, motion graphics and dynamic interaction skills a plus
• Experience with physical prototyping platforms (arduino, etc) a plus
• Experience working with industrial designers a big plus
