Smart Design, a global design consultancy with offices in New York, San Francisco and Barcelona, seeks a contract Project Manager (5+ years experience) to join our Client Services group in New York for an assignment of 4 to 6 months. The Project Manager is accountable for the day-to-day success of programs in partnership with the creative teams, and the growth of key client relationships in partnership with account management. This role is focused on delivering an exceptional Smart Design client experience, working closely with the client and design teams to ensure that the vision and goals of each program are realized. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with client-facing experience and a proven track record in the fundamentals (communication skills, managing change orders and billing, adhering to the overall timeline and budget, etc.). Experience working with creative staff in a fast-paced environment is a must.
Requirements:
• Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary programs in parallel, preferably for a client service organization
• Enjoyment of fast-paced work environment
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and track deliverables, schedules, budgets, teams and resources
• Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and efficiently process work
• Ability to anticipate next steps, ensuring seamless flow of communication between client and internal teams
• Polished written and verbal communication skills; experience supporting proposal development and serving as the point of contact for clients
• Ability to gain the trust of creative teams and, correspondingly, guide the success of a program
• At ease adapting to the unique requirements of each program and client organization, as needed
• Availability to travel, as required
