Candidates for this internship are inquisitive and informed, resourceful and self-motivated, and excellent communicators. You should expect real challenges, a fun atmosphere, and both solo work and work within a dynamic team structure. Fringe benefits include (but are not limited to) espresso on tap, foosball tables, and Happy Hour Fridays!

Our work is focused around understanding people and their needs in today’s world, along with the business impact we can make through design. Our video work and visual content will reflect this point of view and should tell great stories about the people we design for (and with), as well as the people in our company behind our work.

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the Marketing Content team with the production of video materials to be used both internally and externally. This will range from pre-production to final output: brainstorm ideas for videos, explore storytelling methods/mediums (Vine, Vimeo, website, etc.), organize and edit footage, prep videos for online sharing and use in presentations.
Get ready to wear many hats!

Work with design teams to capture and document their creative process and project work. A roving reporter of sorts within the offices capturing video content of the cool stuff we do.

Act as a point person for all video footage that’s created for Smart Design’s SF office (research videos, process documentation, internal videos, and special projects). And by “point person” we mean you’ll help manage files and support cross-office workflow, coordinate and document ongoing projects, log footage, and help with technical issues that arise from people using footage (integration into PPT presentations, etc.)

Assist Executive Producer with:

storyboarding, developing shot lists, equipment rentals, lighting/grip set-up and test shoots

camera operating or assisting, AD/script supervisor duties, and talent wrangling.

Final Cut Pro 7 or X (or similar), work flow from footage wrangling to final outputs, Adobe Creative Suite (esp. After Effects), Compressor, and online broadcasting with Vimeo, etc.
