On January 20th, 2016, Smart Design will host a Smart Salon focusing on the future of fashion and technology. As a new human centered approach to fashion is emerging, new opportunities are also emerging for fashion brands to work within previously unconnected industries. Bridging the gap between fashion and function leverages new technologies we’ve seen disrupt other industries.
In partnership with the IIT Institute of Design, Smart Design will convene a panel comprised of innovative minds with expertise in the fashion and technology sectors. The panel will include:
- Deborah Alden, Managing Director, Pratt’s Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator (BF+DA)
- Laura Forlano, Assistant Professor of Design, Director of the Critical Futures Lab
- Gina Reimann, Creative Lead, Google Accessories
- Nilofer Vahora, Vice President of Licensing & Product Innovation, Rebecca Minkoff
