With the release of a revolutionary operating system, Microsoft asked us to create a packaging structure that was as much of a departure from traditional software packaging as Vista was from its predecessor.

Our team led Microsoft on a dramatic departure, creating a proprietary rounded form that recognizably set Vista apart and reflected Microsoft’s position as a visionary technology leader. To communicate the transparency and inclusiveness of the software, we created a dynamic out-of-box experience that unveils the media on a clear tray that is an extension of the structure.

Well received upon its introduction, the packaging structure has been applied beyond the Windows Vista line to many other Microsoft software products. The eye catching structure helped sales of Windows Vista and Office 2007 software exceed internal projections by $600 million.
