Interaction Design Intern

At Smart Design, the interaction design practice works with clients and understands user needs to identify opportunities for design to help people in their everyday lives.
Responsibilities:
- Act as supporting team members on client projects working closely with researchers, strategists and other designers
- Participate in brainstorms to come up with multiple ideas to solve client problems
- Support user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and feedback
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs using industry-standard design tools with focus on Figma
Naturally, you have:
- Has or working towards a degree in UX/ UI or related field
- At least 1 UX/UI internship
- Hands on digital prototyping skills
- User research experience – talking to real users is a bonus!
- An incurable curiosity relating to all things design
- No fear of teamwork, brainstorming sessions or presenting in front of your team
- Healthy email habits, making you a communicative and responsive team player
- A portfolio or case study examples that show your full process (not just end screen designs)
The role is based in Brooklyn and will need to be local. Interns must be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week and more as projects require. Intern rates depend on educational level and will fall between $20-24/hour.
