Smart announces Makeathon Design Challenge

At $5.7 billion, the cannabis industry is the fastest growing industry in the United States. As legalization continues to spread across the nation, the landscape is quickly transforming and abounds with opportunity.
With new users and unanswered needs, good design is critical in the redefinition and future culture of cannabis. Smart Design is hosting our first makeathon in the New York studio to explore the possibilities via a team-based competition challenging participants to develop concepts and prototypes against design prompts.
The 12-hour event will include speakers throughout the day and a judging panel of design and cannabis industry experts. Coaches and mentors will be on hand to guide participants through the ideation and opportunity development process, helping them stretch and stress-test their ideas.
