Davin Stowell to serve as guest juror for Driverless Future competition

Announcement

This year, Blank Space partners with the NYC Mayor’s Office, New Lab, Fast Company and AIANY to host The Driverless Future, a challenge to shape and envision the impact of autonomous transportation in New York City.

Smart Design founder and CEO, Davin Stowell will be serving as a guest juror to the competition. An expert in strategic consumer product design, Davin has led the charge for some of Smart’s most ambitious projects, including New York City’s Taxi of Tomorrow.

The design competition will focus not on the cars themselves, but on other elements that actively shape the city’s response to driverless cars from parking solutions, to new uses of roadways, intersections, and sidewalks. The goal of the challenge is to create a foundation for innovators and entrepreneurs to enact real change in New York City.

Entrants will actively create new solutions and products that harness the power of autonomous transportation. Four finalists will present their pitch to NYC’s top government officials, and winning entries will turn their proposals into real companies and products.

The competition launched last week and will run through mid-May. For more information, please visit Blankspaceproject.com.
