Each year, NYU hosts a $300K Entrepreneur’s challenge, one of the largest and most innovative accelerator programs and startup competitions in the world. The 8-month program involves more than 750 students, faculty and researchers from 16 schools across NYU’s global campuses and consists of how-to workshops, hands-on boot camps and one-on-one coaching sessions to experience the startup process from idea to launch.

Design Engineering Director, Ed Laganis, received this year’s Mentor of the Year award, recognized for his extraordinary dedication and the critical role he’s played in mentoring and coaching the teams throughout the process and competition. Ed has been involved in the Entrepreneur’s Challenge over the past several years, and is a regular advisor on similar startup programs.

This year’s competition included three tracks: New Venture, Social Venture and Technology Venture. Winners can be viewed here.
