International Housewares Association:

Smart Design involved in 2018 student competition

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the International Housewares Association student design competition. Industrial design students from schools all across the globe will submit projects demonstrating user and market research, design thinking, engineering drawings and tested prototypes.

Industrial Designer, Alaina Appelbaum will be part of this year’s jury alongside 13 other professionals including professors, consultant designers, and retailers. Jurors will gather this week to choose 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners and honorable mentions.

Top winners will be invited to Chicago to exhibit their product concepts among 2,200 other displays at the 2018 Home and Housewares show, March 10-13. For more info on the student design competition and to view 2017 winners, click here.
