Baked to perfection
Precision is paramount in the world of baking, and OXO’s suite of cookie products delivers on this front with unmatched accuracy, comfort, and convenience. The cookie suite is comprised of three products: the Good Grips Slice and Bake Cookie Maker, the Silicone Cookie Scoops, and the Good Grips Double-Sided Cookie & Biscuit Cutters. Through Smart Design’s decades-long partnership with OXO, we collaborated to introduce easy solutions to common baker’s problems.
Half-baked ideas
Through user research, we discovered that the average home baker uses an abundant amount of plastic wrap or parchment paper to help form cookie dough. To combat this wasteful practice, the idea for the Slice and Bake Cookie Maker came about. By replacing single-use plastic wrap and parchment paper with one reusable tool, this cookie solution enables a more sustainable mindset.
Bringing the Slice and Bake Cookie Maker to life required many iterations and user testing. The thickness of the mat, the flexibility of the end caps, and the location of the measurement markings were all carefully considered to ensure the final design was intuitive, versatile, and durable.
Store with ease
The end caps allow the dough to be stored vertically or horizontally in your fridge or freezer. As the dough chills, it retains its shape and demarcations for accurate measurements every time.
Make your mark
Measurement markings on the side of the mat guarantee uniform cookie thickness. Bakers can choose from either 1.5”, 1.75”, or 2” diameter. Measuring and slicing cookies has never been easier.
More comfortable baking experience
User testing and research helped us to identify the discomfort that many home bakers experience when using double-sided cookie and biscuit cutters. The idea for the Double-Sided Biscuit and Cookie Cutters came about to address this pain point. By creating two separate, but combinable softer pressing surfaces, this cookie solution enables better storage, more precise cuts, and a gentler cookie baking process.

Comfortable grip doubles as a lid to keep cutters organized and stored effectively when not in use.

Use the grip to keep multiple cutters concentric, or to create a soft pressing surface during cutting.
Multiple shapes with one tool
Use a single cutter for the perfect circular or fluted cut, or combine multiple for cutouts, donuts, and more.
Speed up your cookie making
We learned both amateur and experienced cookie makers want to enjoy their baking sooner. Through research, we identified recommended sizes and shapes that allow our silicone cookie scoop to place 1.5 tbsp of dough, the perfect proportions to make medium-sized cookies. It has a durable edge to cut through and scoops up the dough with ease and the soft bottom releases the dough with a light press making it user-friendly and dishwasher safe. To round out your baking experience, it comes with a mini spatula that possesses a flexible edge to dig into and scrape up those last bits of dough from the bowl—more dough means more cookies!
